Nice to meet you! I’m Jennie Smythe, Founder and Chief Executive Officer of award-winning Girlilla Marketing. My company leads digital strategy for a diverse roster of world-famous entertainers and brands. We are experts in social media, content creation, fan clubs, paid media campaigns, analytics tracking and so much more.
I’m a lifelong music lover who launched Girlilla Marketing after gaining experience at Disney’s Hollywood Records, YAHOO! Music, Warner Bros. Records and Clear Channel. Girlilla Marketing celebrated 15 years of success in 2023. I’m so proud of what we have accomplished together and continue to accomplish.
Which brings me to my latest endeavor, Becoming Girlilla, a new blog about my personal and career experiences. It’s an honest look at being an entrepreneur, my breast cancer journey, navigating the pandemic and lessons learned along the way. I hope my posts will make you think, laugh and see your own story in mine, because we are all connected, online and offline. Her memoir will be released by Forefront Books in 2025.
With more than two decades of experience, Smythe is a forward-thinking entrepreneur who currently serves as President of the Country Music Association, as well as on the boards of the CMA Foundation and Music Health Alliance. She has been featured in the Associated Press, Billboard, MusicRow, Fast Company, People, HITS and The Tennessean. She is a multi-year winner of the Nashville Business Journal’s Women in Music City Awards, and a MusicRow magazine Rising Women on the Row honoree. She is married to fellow entrepreneur Shannon Houchins and resides in Nashville with their two children.
